The Shaders Mod for Minecraft was originally created by daxnitro at the beginning of 2011 and is now updated by karyonix regularly. It is the perfect way to give Minecraft a whole new feeling and enhance the graphics a lot.

By installing this mod, your Minecraft version will receive an immense graphic update. The default visuals are replaced by the incredible Shaders, what also reduces the FPS rate, if your computer is too slow.

The Mod doesn’t go according to the principle ‘One appearance fits all’. Thanks to the great Minecraft community, there’s something for every taste. Users are creating awesome community packs for every purpose and needs.

The above images show a simple comparison between Vanilla Minecraft and the Modded verison. Simple, but very effective.

Because of the spectacular sunrise, objects are dropping beautiful shadows along the terrain. The lights are nicely reflected by the water surface, making the whole atmosphere realistic.

The fog covers the distance, creating an awesome view by looking to the horizon. Just enjoy the silence and let nature, or lets say the mod take care of the rest.

To use this mod, you have to make sure your graphics card and CPU are good enough. If they are not, you will have a too low FPS rate to enjoy the full benefits of it.

You can still check out the community packs, because most of them feature different versions. Some are supporting slower computers, while others are reserved for high-end PC's.

HOW TO INSTALL SHADERS

  • Update Minecraft to your preferred version.
  • Download the Mod, execute it and follow the instructions
  • Get a shaderpack and put it into the „shaderpacks“ folder in your Minecraft root directory. If there isn’t such a folder, create it.
  • Launch Minecraft with your newly created Mod profile.
